We need the Body life!!

Praise the Lord for the Body of Christ. And that we are part of it! Thank you Lord for including us!

I enjoyed Romans 12:5 this morning.

Romans 12:5 " So we who are many are one Body in Christ, and individually members one of another." It is wonderful to see this week that the Body of Christ is not an organization( is a social group which distributes tasks for a collective goal. The word itself is derived from the Greek word organon, itself derived from the better-known word ergon - as we know `organ` - and it means a compartment for a particular job.) The Body of Christ is an organism, produced by the union in life that we have with Christ. The purpose of Christ salvation is to have Christ produced in millions of people, that they may become the members of the Body of Christ, NOT seperate or individual units, but parts of the living, functioning, coordinated and corporate whole. We should not have a living of being detached from each other. Even though each one has a different function, we should still have this corporate living.

I just realized in my own experience, life happens so fast, and if we dont live in the Body, in the House to House church life, we simply will not make it in our Christian life. We need the saints, we need the fellowship with each other, we need the mingling with the Triune God. What a priviledge that we have been placed in the Body and that we have a way to be mingled one spirit with each other. Yes, we know all this, it is a fact to us, but do we really live this life? Do we really stand against our business, our tiredness, our difficult children and any difficulties that may come? We must be such a testimony to the world, a shining lampstand that we are for the Lord, we are for this corporate living, and nothing can stand against us.

When I think of us going against the world, I think of a salmon. Once they want to reproduce and lay their eggs, they have to swim against the current to go back to their birth place, they have to swim through very icey waters, they have to swim against flowing rocks, to get back to where they are intended to be.

May we have such a living, swimming against the current, daily, to enter into our spirit, to be one Christ, to be one with the Body. To give up what we think we know, and remain in the flow!

Praise the Lord.

So enjoyable!

I thought I had better write something in our blog, so that we do not get to behind. For some reason I cannot find my SD card of my camera, which means I am missing a lot of memories from happening!! No fun. I will keep searching though.

It has been so much fun with the boys at home lately! I just enjoy it so much, and treasure every moment with them. Daniel is 3 years and a month old now and fully potty trained, well he still wears a nappy at night, but yeah he hasn't had a accident in over 2 weeks, he just hates a wet pants, and he did a NR 2(sorry tmi) in a toilet for the first time yesterday! So we are getting there. I am so proud of him, he is just so clever. "Schooling" has been going very well, we are very very informal, just doing everyday what we feel is fun, be it numbers, or just playing outside in the mud, or going for a visit to a friend. Daniel actually asked that we bake a cake, so I think that might be happening today! His speaking has improved so much. He still has a lot of Chinese in his vocabulary, but I find every day he speaks so much more, and even full sentences. My big boy.

Nathan, he has become so easy and relaxed. I have been praying over this tantrums and difficulties a lot, and I have increased his food intake a lot. Well, we invested in a tin of NR 3 formula and that seems to have done it for him. He is just much more relaxed and I cannot actually remember, but I think his last tantrum was about a week ago. How can it be that hunger can cause such difficult behaviour in a child. I think he has a very fast metabolism, and until further notice, he will be fed formula - don't speak about the cost - just shove that under the carpet...no fun! But the joys of having kids.

These boys are so different from each other though. As much as Daniel loves puzzles, and reading and sitting down to do stuff, so much Nathan hates it. Daniel could do all the wooden puzzles at 9 months, whereas Nathan at 19 months cannot be bothered. BUT, give him a ball and a cricket bat, and he comes alive, or a bike to ride outside. That is what he loves. I love the fact that my boys are so different and that I am probably going to be sitting at the art classes with Daniel, and at the cricket field with Nathan. FUN FUN!!

I still get a lot of critique for keeping Daniel at home, but I do believe in my own instinct though and will stand on that until we feel any different. I just hope for my friends to accept our decision, and realize that we all must do what is best for our children and our families. I KNOW that I am the best teacher for my children until they are a bit older, and they are so happy. Neither of them have indicated at this point that they would rather be rushed to be in a school every day. And I am treasuring the years that I have with them now. And NO, I dont need my own time to go drink coffee with friends. My own time is the time with my children, and we all enjoy it very much!

Thank you Lord!

Much grace to everyone!

So we go on.....

Nathan - so cute

Both boys on the beach

Brotherly love(cannot get pic turned sorry)

Daniel at his 3rd birthday party

Our BIG BOY!!

Our small Gray family

My baby Nathan
It has surely been a very long time since I posted. I have been thinking about it lately, but am just wondering, what shall I say...a lot has been happening, and yeah...what to say....?

The last 2 months have been wonderful, just having my boys home, being with them, and reflecting on what our next steps are with the boys...Since Sofi left, Daniel was ill on and off, and being at Dannies little playschool has not been so good for him after all.Being ill to often, thus not going that much, then school holidays happening, and then him not settling into a steady routine, and mommy - well not being super duper encouraged to actually get him to school. So we stopped...end of story!

It has been something that I wanted to do for so long, but our situations have not allowed yet, but...now it has finally happened. Homeschooling. Our boys, for the next 2 and half years, that is Daniel and Nathan for the next 3 and a half years. I am so excited. Then when time comes, deciding if are going to continue through primary school or actually sending them to Grade R. But, my motto with this is, nothing is set in stone, and the school system is out there and always ready to receive my boys! Just not now.

I have been considering our main reasons for rather homeschooling the boys.
* They are so small, and being in school runs, rushing to school, and being in such a strict schedule is just to much at this age. I am able to be home with them, it is not easy and very tight financially, but I feel it is my responsibility to keep them home with me, where they can learn and play at their own pace.
* They are going to be in a school for about 12-13 years of their lives, and then University for anything from 3-7 years. Why force them into it already?
* I have qualifications as a Educare teacher. I have the skill, patience and love for my 2 boys, I dont feel many other people has, making me the best teacher for them. I understand them, know where they are at, and can lead them slowly but surely in the right direction.
* We know a lot of people in our town, so NO, our kids wont struggle to be social beings, and to learn how to interact on a social level. Going to Checkers and learning to speak properly with an elderly person, is learning to be a proper social human being, learning not to bite Nathan when he is mad, is learning to be a proper social human being, learning respect for his mother at home, will teach him to have respect for authority out there...

There are cons to this way of living, but at this point I believe there are more cons to it...so we are very happy! The boys are at peace, they are flourishing, and they love relaxing and enjoy learning through play!

What a privilege! Thank you Lord for this opportunity!

Joshua 24:15 "But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah"

Genesis 33:5 "And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are these with you? And he said, The children which God has graciously given your servant."

Hebrews 2:13: "And again, I will  trust in Him. And again, Behold I and the children which God has given to me."

Ephesians 6:4: "And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger: but nurture them in the discipline and admonition of the Lord."

Deuteronomy 6:6-9: "And these words, which I command you today, shall be upon your heart: And you shall repeat them to your children, and speak about them when you sit in your house, and when you journey on your way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall bind them on your hand as a sign, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates."

Our dear Sofia...

Playing with Nathan, look all the toys!!

Always busy exploring

I love crawling to the front door now!!

Hi there everyone!

Arts and Crafts

So much fun!

Playing with my friends
So I decided to make this blog post about our beloved Sofia!!! She has been with us nearly 5 months, and it has been a great few months, of a lot of learning, playing, crawling, following the boys around, naps...and just enjoying being with her friends, especially Nathan.

Sofi usually arrives around 8:45 and then we have breakfast if she is hungry, then just play. If the weather allows we go out into the garden for a walk, and she always loves that...together with Nathan in the twin pram. We then come inside and play. Reading, or just chatting and singing or doing rhymes. Then just playing with all the toys, until she collapses in her campcot for a 2 hour nap. The usually wakes up pretty hungry, so she has a bottle, and then an hour later its lunch time...which she loves! Then we just play until mommy comes..what a great time we have every day!

We treasure every day with your little Sofi, and love having you with us. Time flies, and you are growing older...you just turned 9 months old. WOW! Big girl.

We love you Sofi!

All about ME!!!

I cannot believe it, I posted on the 2nd of May...and now it is the 14th of May already...where is time going...?

A lot has happened, and I must say, it has been a tough few weeks, but as I always say, by the Grace of God I am what I am! I have been enjoying His Grace much, esp when I am really ill and I have to walk to the doctor, after all His Grace is sufficient for us.

We have been without a car for 7 weeks now, as the person who was supposed to fix it, made a big mess up, and we are basically and the beginning again, which means everything has to be done again! And paid all over again....luckily for us money grows on trees, so NO PROBLEM!!! Hehe.

I have thus been enjoying a lot of walks, for shopping mainly and getting errands done, the library etc. The boys love it, and we use this opportunity to learn about cars, the trees, and just generally learning to greet everyone that passes us and being friendly. I really want my children to grow up learning that we greet everyone! Does not matter the race, financial standing or anything! Which means it mainly begins with me, and in the end our walks are great fun, and not depressing or sad at all.

I have been pretty ill this last 3 weeks. First we thought I might be pregnant, as nausea are one of the main signs I have, esp in the mornings...so I was already getting lame the thought of having 3 children to support and raise...once again thinking homeschooling would be wonderful! But after a visit to the doc, I had a bad Urinary tract infection, so on some meds thinking I would be better 48 hours later...HAHA...a week later back to the doc, and getting another stronger AB, thinking that should do it...then 3 days later, I am on the phone back to doc, and he suggest I come in again and have a urine test done for pregnancy. I just keep feeling ill and really nauseas....finally yesterday, he decided to read through my health history DUH, and he realized that I have a history of chronic UTI's and he is on the phone to the Urologist, whom I have seen twice and who saw to me when I had the kidney stones at 31 weeks pregnant with Nathan. They found what I understood that my right kidney is having slight failure in function properly, but then when we visit another doc today she said I just have a kidney infection, so we really are hoping that is what it is. I am currently on injections for 3 days and then a even stronger antibiotic. Will see how that goes, just hope it will get better soon!

In all this I feel that I do become stronger in myself, just coping with difficulty, and also learning to lean on my Beloved more and not so much on those around me. Everyone is very busy with their own lives, but our dear Lord is just there waiting to shepherd me, while I walk and do my daily things.

Praise Him for His sufficient supply!

DANIEL!!!! My precious big boy!

Daniel in OUPA se kar!

Daniel our big boy!!! I cannot believe he is already 2 years and 8 months old already. And I love him to bits, he is one of the best things that happened to me. I feel I want to give this day to him, he is sweet, happy, self confident and ready for life.

I was totally amazed by him this past weekend. We bought him 4 puzzles, 6, 8, 10 and 12 piece. He mastered it with a smile. I would mix all the pieces up and about 15 minutes later he will come and get me with a big smile "nannie, klaar" - mommy finish! He just loves to sit and do it until it is finished. I am so proud of him. His speaking is improving nearly daily, and he is starting to put sentences together more.

We decided to homeschool him for now. I might put him in a little playgroup 2 mornings a week, as I am working and cannot get him to any mommy or social groups in the mornings, he is always asking for friends, and esp when Arenda's white beast stops he thinks Carli arrived and he gets so sad if she is not there. My heart is just to raise him without all the influences of the world, he is in the world but I want to raise him not of the world. I know there is a lot of pressure to raise our kids from early on in schools etc, but we feel strongly that the home environment will be best for him. He already loves the things we do together, and it will only get much better!

He loves Nathan, and finally does not say Deda anymore, but calls him Nathan, they still share a room, and I actually had to move the beds apart, so that they dont make more nonsense than sleep, when I put them down.

Thank You Lord for giving us this little boy! Grace us that we may raise him in Your ways, and be our wisdom to know what they are!

Finally got J, but no smile..poor baby!

Andre with San3.....

Cerebus is still alive

On the 9th of April we had a get together in Somerset West, Western Cape for the mommies on www.mommies.co.za. It was a wonderful time, and we really enjoyed meeting up and see each other again, also seeing San3 and her husband who was visiting all the way from Gauteng.

It was a coolish day, and we had Jessica, Andre and Nathan, Jessica was not feeling very well that day, so was mainly sitting with mommy, and Andre kept flirting with the camera! Nathan was happily watching all the action from his pram!

We missed Mom2A though, as she had a baby shower that morning and could not attend!!!

Thanks for coming through to Somerset West to accommodate us, the Grays, with no car. It was great to see all the moms again!

I hope we can do this again soon!

So we are now just 3!!!

Things have changed here at Wriggly Worms daycare...hehe, we are back to being just the 3 of us, Daniel, Nathan and our super sweet girly, the only one...Sofia!! We will miss little Emma, but because she is still so small she will enjoy it more being at home with her nanny. Carli has also moved to another school, closer to home and easier for mommy to get to!

Things have been going very well here. Sofi is just such a cute little girl. She is practicing every day how to crawl, and moves like no tomorrow. She also had a very big milestone this week...her first TOOTHIE!!!! Congratulations big girl. I always joke and say that Sofia is like a piece of furniture in the house. She is so happy, and if she is fed, and cuddled, and clean, she just wants to play, and not to much cuddling please, it takes to much time from playing. She is already nearly 8 months old and in her 3rd month being with us. We love you Sofi! Or Fi as Daniel calls her, or Tanni Cole!

My boys have been ill most of this week, with us rushing to the doctor to see what was causing such a sudden temperature rise in Nathan, it went from normal to over 40 degrees over night. First doc thought he has bacterial Pneumonia which meant hospital with us, but luckily it is just Viral, so after 4 days on antibiotics, Nathan is still struggling with slight fevers and also coughing and runny nose, same with Daniel, Daniels fever is just higher for now. EISH...I dont know what to do...I am sure they will get better...that is for sure.

I want to start a more set schedule, as it is just the 3 kids and things have become pretty predictable. Lets try something like this:

8:30 to 8:45: Sofia arrives
9:00 to 9:20: breakfast with milk/water
9:30 to 10:00:(winter) In the garden, in the pram in sleeping bag
9:30 to 10:30:(summer) In the garden, on the grass on blanket
10:30 to 11:00: Stimulation - reading, singing, dancing, physical exercise
11:00 to 11:10: Get ready for naps and have milk
11:10 to 13:00: Nap and wake up(Sofi and Nathan) - activities with Daniel
13:15 to 13:30: Prepare for lunch(nappy change etc) - Daniel goes for nap
13:30 to 13:50: Lunch
13:50 to 14: 15: Prepare for Tannie Cole to pick up Sofi

We will try our best to keep to this schedule. It is important to have some form of routine, as then we can take care of all the needs of the 3 kids.

Things will be easier and more peaceful from now on. I am excited and believe we can only go from strength to strength!

Busy, busy!!!

I havent been writing the blog for a week or two as things have just been so busy! Last week our little Carli left us, and she is going for other pastures, hopefully greener!! With us, we have 4 little ones now, Daniel, Nathan, Sofia and Emma(in order of age) and they keep me busy! Plainly said. I have been wondering lately how to get myself more organized, but seems like things are just the way they are.

Daniel is starting with school today, Suikerbekkies, and we are all excited, yet mommy is feeling a bit nervous, perhaps a bit the fact that I cannot take him myself, no car, and little ones arriving, and then wondering how he will settle, not having been away from me or ouma very often. We will see, and I am sure he will prove himself!

Nathan is well, he is a busy little thing, trying everything to walk. He walks with the pram, the chair, a box, anything he can possibly hold on to, in order for him to be able to actually walk....I am sure he will be able to walk soon! He has a totally different temperament that his brother, and does get upset rather fast, leaving his mom and dad in a total state of shock, and mainly of not know what to do...the boy is just 13 months old, what is that all about?

Sofi has been the star of the show, she has settled, is happy, easy going, naps, eats and loves going for long walks in the garden. I have just been enjoying her, she loves rollling, and sitting - which she is a pro at already, and practicing the art of crawling every day! I am sure it wont be long, and she will be cruising after Nathan, she loves him to bits, and they can spend "hours" kissing! To cute!

Emma has been with us for about 3 weeks now, and she is still a bit nervous around the kids, but I am sure with time she will settle right in with us, she still loves sleeping, and going for a 4 hour nap is nothing out of the ordinary! She also loves her milk, and wonder if she might start on some real food soon!!!

Me myself and I often feel like I need a break...but enjoying them and seeing them develop makes it all worth it...enjoy every moment where they are, and being content in what we have, is one of the things I have learnt....not hoping and wishing for something else, but just enjoying what is infront of us!

I am still to sort out the picture posting...will come soon!

My Boys!!!

They are indeed awesome, they must be the two most awesome human beings alive, I love them and they are one of the reasons I get up every morning, well....above the "TEE HE" - (I want my tea) every morning, I love getting up to get some time in with them. Sometimes I think I am the luckies mom out there, my boys are loving, happy and giving. Even Nathan at 13 months, he loves kissing, cuddling and playing with his brother, Daniel is just a soft and sensitive character, who does not mind a smack from mommy...but please, not one from daddy...as I think that hurts the ego more than the bum!

At times I think with me working, they suffer, but then if I consider it, at least they are with me 24/7 and my input is the only input in their lives right now, which is the best I suppose. They thrive daily on being home, being in their normal routine, though I think Daniel finds it a bit boring at times, yet he is ok with it, as long as I read with him daily...it would be hourly if it was up to him...And is he starting to talk now, his best sentence thus far is "gan ek met ouma se kar ry?" which means "am I going to get to go in Grama's car"...he says all the words you can find, but he has to just get them organized into sentences now.

Nathan is a little firecracker, totally different from his brother Daniel, he is stubborn, mischievous, and a botherer...he loves bothering anyone that comes in his sight, and it means often times that he gets a book over his head, or a set of teeth on his leg....as that is hopefully for now, the way Daniel say "NO STAY AWAY"...he is always and constantly hungry and will eat anything that comes his way, be it a piece of seed from the garden...or a tire from one of Daniels cars...He keeps me busy, that is for sure! At only 13 months I cannot imagine that he will be a boy that will let anyone sit on his head, so beware everyone...here comes NATHAN!! I dont know where he gets this personality from, as neither Jason or myself are firecrackers....mmm, makes you wonder hey!

These are my boys...my pride and joy, my reason for bragging...better stop now...

An update of Wriggly Worms will happen again as soon as I can figure out how to post pictures properly!

Chaos at times, but mostly fun!

I realize with a sadness that I am not able to write my blog all that often, sorry to everyone who wishes for it to come weekly, or even daily! I will try my best to do it once a week, things have been busy lately, my boys were ill and up all night, and some days I had 5 kids to contend with...so please bear with me...

In our family things have been going very well...I have been enjoying my own kids so much, and treasure every moment with them. Daily I am thankful that I can work, and have them with me all day. I sometimes feel guilty, as I share their love and care with two other kids, but then, at least they have their mommy every day!

I had my birthday yesterday...it was wonderful. My family did their best to make me feel loved and cared for! For a better family I cannot ask. My beloved Jason also did his best, by cooking me a wonderful dinner, and buying me a beautiful silver necklace, love him to bits!

Wriggly worms is doing really well. The kids are all awesome, and I must say...though some days it is hard work, and I feel so tired....I enjoy each one of theirs company. They teach me patience, if one thing...

Sofia has been so awesome....she goes into the campcot on her own now. She started getting a bit uncomfortable with taking her naps in her pram, so I decided to slowly bring her to get used to the cot, and does she love it, first time she actually gave a big sigh of relief, and after a bit more than a week of soft patting and singing whatever song comes into my head, she is now sleeping without any patting, just put her down and she goes down, sometimes she fights, but then a little pat for a bit, certainly does not harm. She loves the floor, rolling, practicing to sit, and she loves clapping her hands to singing. She enjoys Nathan the most, and loves it when he plays around her, and even rolls over her sometimes...

Daniel, he is my clever little boy! And is he a boy! He is not so fond of painting anymore, as it means he has to sit still for to long. So if I make it very interesting, like applying the paint to his body, then he happily participates. He loves Carli, and they can play together in the room, packing and unpacking things, or hiding and playing in the big box...which needs replacement very soon. Their most fun thing is still going out into the garden on their bikes, parking the bikes and exploring what the garden offers them. I then sit and Sofia and Nathan and myself chat away while the toddlers play.

Carli, she is just a joy! She loves having her arms around my neck to give big cuddles. She happily comes to visit us every day, and some days still remain a huge fight to get her into the car to get her home. Her aupair Yvette always does a great job to get her in, counting 123..but the best is when mommy can bring her and pick her up, then I also get to see my friend...Carli has 2 weeks left with us, then she will be going to another school closer to her house, then Catherine - her nanny can pick her up every day. Much fun! A small surprise might come your way little Carli!

And our dearest Nathan, he is learning to walk. He squeals with delight when he can walk with his walker, vacuum cleaner, chair...any object does it for him, when he wants to exercise those...I legs. I think it wont be long, then we will have a little walker. He now says Mamma, hey and deeda, which is the name Daniel calls him. Oh and Fi for sofi! The last few days he has been sleeping most of Wriggly worms hours...so we miss him...soon we will start including him in our art sessions...cannot wait.

Our new little addition Emma, came to visit us a few days, just to get used to the whole setup. She is a cute little thing, and we all cannot wait to welcome her into our home when she starts full time on the 22nd of March. She is the smallest little one of I think 14 weeks, with blond hair and bright blue eyes.

I have a stack of pictures, and it is hard to decide which to use...so enjoy!

Ps if anyone knows how to arrange the pics properly on here I would love some help, I would like o put a pic of a child at his paragraph!

And the days go by!

Things have been going very well here at Wriggly worms, much activity, enjoyment and fun. Hopefully learning something new every day, from the Ant to the autumn tree.

I have really been enjoy these kids so much, each one is unique in their own way. Little Carli is a little firecracker, she is not slow to speak her little mind, and she loves learning, as soon as I call them to come and sit on my knee to learn about something at the computer(yes this is our biggest learning resource) then she is there, keen to jump on and jump in! She loves painting even more now, and as soon as she comes in the door, she wants to know what we are painting today! This is unfortunately her last month with us, but we will enjoy it as much as we can!

Daniel loves Carli...he always kisses Sofia, and he always fights with his brother Nathan, but he enjoys their company! I think the boy in him has come out as he does not find painting so enjoyable as he used to when he was smaller, he kinda gives it a smear here and a smear there...and then he is done...and I get a very satisfied "klaar"....at time frustration for me, but enjoyment for him, so I usually just leave him there. As long as HE enjoys it. He still loves his writing and counting and reading so much, and will sit down with anyone who will sit with him for a minute...sometimes he scares me!

Sofi...she is just awesome, her happy squeals when I sit down to play with her, she is so good at baby gym now, she rolls, she loves stretching her arms, and her legs up and down, and she loves practicing her sitting! We do baby gym every day, and then she has a bath, which I reckon she loves even more! She splashes and giggles with much pleasure. And dont even start talking about eating...that must be her favorite new past time...esp butternut...she actually schmucks her little lips together when she eats.

Nathan has figured out that he can walk very fast with the walker, it is so cute, and he is so delighted with himself, looking around to see who can see him, and if he can get an applause from some interested bystander. Usually his very eager daddy. He is our delight, and I just enjoy him as he develops into a happy little boy, ready for more adventure. I find some mornings he loves being in the front line of being mischievous, he is younger than the older ones, but he loves "saying" what to do, and it is always touching the naughty line, but I love it....to see that I have a little leader...with his older brother always ready to follow...

That is our little school...my enjoyment, their pleasure....

We had a little visitor last week, Mister Xander Yntema, he joined us to learn about the Ant, and I think he loved it, this was the first time he painted, and one can see the concentration and enjoyment in his little face. To cute! Hope you come again soon Xander.

We are now one year old!!!

So, our dear little baby boy Nathan had his first birthday last week, and it was a wonderful day indeed! He just was Nathan, and awesome in every sense of the word! The day of his birthday was eventful enough to write an entire book about! Stress, rushing, baking, enjoying, loving, not sure what other words to use...but eventful. The evening was wonderful, Oupa and Ouma, Justin, Oom Jan, Tannie Kinny, Veronica and Adriaan came, and we enjoyed some lekka cake and watched Nathan as he had his first taste of real chocolate sweetness...it was so cute.

Nathan is such a sweet little boy...I just cannot believe we made a year with him already, the first year was hectic, loads of illnesses, reflux etc, but now he is crawling and just happy, he loves his brother, and his favorite past time is to bother Daniel as much as he can, be it taking his raisins off him, or putting his foot in the paper when Daniel tries to draw...

Time flies, and we need to enjoy and cherish every moment, I am always so scared I dont enjoy it to the full, and later on will say....why didnt I? Life is full of enjoyable moments, with each other, and just in life...and we must grasp every moment with both hands....

Here is to another wonderful year, with a wonderful little boy, who will grow and be an enjoyment to each one who meets him!
